THE STORY

“Twinkle Toes (the elephant in the room)” (2023) is a jubilant, larger-than-life creature that turns a heavy symbol into something unexpectedly light on its feet. Covered in swirling patterns of turquoise, gold, and magenta, the elephant stands mid-stride, trunk lifted in a triumphant arc and tusks gleaming.

Its surface is a patchwork of cloth, feathers, and tiny embedded treasures—plastic, ceramic, and glass fragments—that catch the light like sequins on a costume. Built from humble materials and found objects sealed in glossy epoxy, the sculpture winks at the phrase “the elephant in the room,” inviting viewers to acknowledge what is usually ignored—only this time with humor, color, and a bit of dancing.
